Newburgh Chamber Music opens its 2019-2020 season with the renowned Munich Philharmonic String Quartet on Saturday, Nov. 2.  The concert begins at 2 pm at St. George’s Church, 105 Grand St., Newburgh. In keeping with NCM’s theme this season of “Turning Points,” the ensemble will perform the last quartets of Haydn, Victor Ullmann, and Mendelssohn. When they wrote these masterpieces, all three composers were at the height of their powers but facing great personal challenges.  Tickets are available at the door or online at www.newburghchambermusic.org. Adults: $25. Students: $5. St. George’s is handicapped accessible with parking across the street. Audience members are invited to a reception following the concert.
