Bending The Truth by Thomas Easley

The Orange County Arts Council’s Annual Members Exhibition and Sale is open virtually until Friday, March 26, providing local artists a venue to showcase their talent while offering their works for sale to the public. The timely theme of this exhibit is “Reflection.” A virtual closing reception will take place on Thursday, March 25 live on OCAC’s Facebook page.

“Reflection gives the brain an opportunity to pause amidst the chaos, untangle and sort through observations and experiences, consider multiple possible interpretations, and create meaning,” said Sarah McKay, OCAC’s executive director. “At its simplest, reflection is about careful thought. We encourage new works to be created with this theme in mind. It’s open to wide interpretation, and submissions may be as abstract or realistic as the artists see fit.”

Works displayed on OCAC’s website include a pleasing variety of paintings, printmaking, photography, sculptural works, and drawings. Participating artists receive a 70 percent commission to artists for works sold.

Additionally, the public is invited to attend a virtual closing reception presented live on Facebook on Thursday, March 25th at 5:00pm. Artists whose works are featured in this exhibition will share their own personal reflections of 2020 as it related to their exhibited artwork.

Online sales are live on OCAC’s website and close Friday, March 26 at midnight. Buyers will purchase directly from the site. Patron pickup dates and times will be Saturday, April 3 – Sunday, April 4, 2-5 pm, at CoLab, 45 St John St. Goshen, NY 10924.
