Dear Artists:

This year, Orange County Arts Council’s Annual Gala, “The Art Affair – Night Song” will be a hybrid event. We’ll be presenting our honorees with their awards at the virtual event on October 15. But on November 4, we’re offering a live event at West Hills Country Club in Middletown, NY. And that’s where the magic comes in…Artists will have the opportunity to design and create a work of installation art that reflects the theme of “Night Song.” These works will be distributed around the space to enhance the ambiance of the evening. Therefore, we need these works to be fantastical, innovative and gasp-evoking…as if they were emerging from the dreamscape of Night Song. Originality is key!

We are seeking 10-15 installations. If your design is selected, OCAC may offer an honorarium of $500. This is dependent upon the number of sponsors we have to underwrite the cost of the works. Artists are able to bring in their own sponsor to cover the cost of the work. If that’s the case, no honorarium will be offered.

Artists whose work has been selected to appear at Night Song will receive 1 comp ticket to the event.

REQUIREMENTS:

For these installations, the artist will have an 8-foot, approximately 30″ high round table as a surface.

We will need:
* An image sketch with approximate dimensions and weight included
* List of materials used to create the installation work
* A sample of artwork (optional)
* Artist’s website address

Artist will need:
* Each installation will need to be premanufactured
* Installed the morning of November 4, after 10:30 am and completed by 3:30 pm
* Fit on an 8-foot, approximately 30″ high round table
* Artwork will be no more than 6 feet tall
* Artwork will need to be removed after gala (9:00 pm)
* Weight restrictions – less than 100 pounds
* Artist will need to install and remove works without assistance from Orange County Arts Council staff and volunteers
