CALL FOR PRESENTING ARTS PROPOSALS
Posted July 18 2022
Orange County Arts Council and LEGOLAND NY are teaming up for a celebration of the arts during September 2022. This opportunity provides a platform for selected artists, performers, musicians and audiences to connect with local artists.
We are currently seeking submissions from Orange County artists to participate in this pilot initiative. This form may be used to submit for presenting arts proposals including dance, theater, interactive arts projects, music OR another category that we have not included here that you believe would engage the audiences at LEGOLAND NY through creativity.
Artists selected to participate in the program will receive a MINIMUM stipend of $800.00 and four comp park tickets, per weekend. Additional Fees may be available for larger groups. You are able to request a higher stipend, should your arts engagement proposal require, but not more than $5,000. Most of the selected proposals will be within the $800- $1,500 range and cost/value will be considered in project selection.
Proposal Deadline: Open through August 15th
Proposals are received on a rolling basis. Proposals submitted sooner have a greater likelihood of being selected.
Follow up Phone Call: One week after proposal submission
After receiving your proposal, we may request a follow up phone call or zoom meeting to ask additional questions about your presenting arts proposal.
If selected, we offer presenting artists with a preview of the spaces that performances will take place as well as an opportunity for a rehearsal during LEGOLAND non-operational hours.
- Saturday, September 10th AND Sunday, September 11th
- Saturday, September 17th AND Sunday, September 18th
Duration: If selected, you must commit to at least one of the weekends above on both the Saturday and Sunday. We aim for you to perform a minimum of 3 showtimes (not to exceed 20 minutes each) per day. However, there is flexibility for proposals that have more passive engagement or allow for audience drop-in participation.
Presenting Arts Proposal: Refers to the entirety of the proposal which may include a project, performance, or arts engagement presentation.
*Please note: For the purpose of this proposal, each performance may not exceed 20 minutes in duration. However, presenting arts proposals that use passive engagement, may be offered longer. (For example: Sidewalk chalk interactive youth project or puppet creation workshops that allow for drop in engagement)
