The Newburgh Free Library and UJIMA Literacy Program will host Celebrations and Traditions of  Kwanzaa Thursday, December 28th from 1-3 pm representing UJIMA, the third principle of Kwanzaa, “Collective Work and Responsibility.” There will be a performance by students from Newburgh Performing Arts Academy, plus food, and kids activities. The entire community is invited to attend and participate, there is no registration required. Last year’s event was attended by more than 140 participants to celebrate art, culture, history, and storytelling through the work of African Americans.
