This live concert of Schubert’s searing masterpiece Winterreise – Winter Journey, which traces the solitary winter journey and descent into madness of a rejected lover, stands as one of the greatest achievements in classical song literature and will be performed by celebrated countertenor Daniel Moody with Lowell Liebermann at the piano. Integrated into the performance will be projected artwork created by Leon Johnson as well as translations of the German text by Lowell Liebermann. Attendance to this live performance is FREE.

Following the concert will be a benefit dinner curated by artist and chef, Leon Johnson for those who would like to contribute support for the new series and enjoy a fun after party. In addition to the locally sourced artisanal dinner, attendees will receive a signed and numbered limited edition print by Leon Johnson. The deadline to sign up for the Dinner is January 28th. Benefit
Dinner reservations are $200 per person. Our goal is to keep the ongoing series free to the public, this financial support helps to make this possible.

In conjunction with this performance, Thornwillow will also be releasing a new, fine press limited edition of the original poems that Schubert set to music with a new translation by Lowell Liebermann and original artwork by Leon Johnson. This publication is part of Thornwillow’s ongoing Thornwillow Dispatch series.
