Meet the art teacher: Daniel Villegas
Daniel A. Villegas is a spoken word poet, teaching artist, and recording artist. He earned a Bachelors of Arts in Theater with a minor in Latin American Studies from SUNY New Paltz (2008), where he received a Certificate of Merit for outstanding performance and contributions to Latin American Theater. He has put in over 3,000 volunteer hours towards youth empowerment and curated and co-founded the Hip Hop and Poetry Saved My Life workshops, which he taught nationwide, through the Obama Administration’s 21st Century grant program from 2009 – 2013.
