Join us for a Virtual Studio Visit on Zoom with artist, Vivien Collens.

Vivien Collens is a lifelong professional artist now known for public sculpture, after earlier recognition for her work in painting installations in the 70s and 80s (as Vivien Abrams).

In 2015 she created City Blocks, her first freestanding sculptures, and exhibited them with her paintings in a  solo exhibit at Gensler’s Rockefeller Center gallery.  Following the exhibition she delved into sculpture, learned to weld and with support from Salem Artworks, work with metal. Collens has installed numerous large scale public sculptures since summer 2017, creatively combining themes of energy and architecture from her painting history with an expressive playfulness.

Her colored sculptures have been exhibited in New York in New York City, Katonah, Kingston, Saratoga Springs, Glens Falls, Salem, Newburgh, Beacon, and in New Orleans and North Bennington, VT.  Her work is in museum, corporate,  and private collections throughout the US.

Registration is required to attend this live virtual event. Admission is free for members and there is a suggested Donation of $10 for non-members to attend.

Arts Outreach Virtual Studio Visits are presented by Orange County Arts Council in partnership with Newburgh Free Library.
