Orange County Arts Council strives to represent all aspects of the county’s arts community. To that end, its Arts Outreach committee has over 40 arts ambassadors and arts organizations from throughout the county. This committee meets quarterly to discuss challenges and solutions as well as share upcoming highlights in their community.
During 2020, this committee focused on the topics of engagement and access. What came out of that discussion was a collective need for tools, resources, and guidance in offering the arts in an equitable way that reaches all members of our community.
Sponsored by Orange & Rockland, in partnership with the Human Rights Commission, Orange County Arts Council now provides a new program offering free I.D.E.A. (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access) training workshops to representatives of any arts organization in Orange County.
Orange & Rockland Manager of Strategic Partnerships, Linda Feger says, “We firmly believe that corporate commitment to the community is essential to improving the quality of life of all our residents. In recognition of the Orange County NY Arts Council’s outstanding work, this contribution is one way to express that commitment. I know this donation will benefit many in our community and will add to your good work.”
“The Orange County Human Rights Commission is excited to partner with the Orange County Arts Council on this great opportunity for the Arts community. We are happy to join them in these vital conversations that will bring unity and education to our community,” says Inaudy Esposito, Orange County Human Rights commissioner.
