The colors and composition of this work bring to mind a day at the beach in Jamaica.
This work is wired but not framed.
Born into a family of artists on the island of Jamaica in the Caribbean, Jennifer Woolcock Schwartz attended the Jamaica School of Arts and Crafts. After a year, Woolcock Schwartz transferred to the Ontario College of Art in Toronto and then to the School of Visual Arts in New York City.
Her goal is to present a purely visual space in which color and line create an illusion of movement that envelops the viewer, eliciting a visceral response.
Woolcock Schwartz has exhibited nationally and internationally. Her work has been reviewed in local and national publications including the New York Times. Her work can be found in both public and private collections.
