Art About Town, sponsored by the River Valley Artists Guild, will present: “It’s Summertime!”

 

At 3 venues: Gios Gelato Café, Bon Secours & PJ Free Library

Shows run through-August 31st, 2021

 

Summer provides us with a visual banquet of diversity, from exquisite and rare plant life to common weeds. If it has roots, shoots, flowers and leaves, is waxy, fragile, sturdy or brittle, terrestrial or aquatic-it’s a very diverse, wide-open theme. Included in the exhibit are pencil drawings, paintings and pastels by River Valley Artists Guild artists artists who celebrate the visual beauty of summer’s diversity.

 

NEW!At Gio’s Gelato Café: Joan Kehlenbeck, is President of the RVAG and shows her pastels and paintings regionally. Other RVAG members in the show  include Daniela Cooney, whose love of animals and natural landscapes is prevalent in her vibrant paintings, Judith Cramer works in acrylics and pastel using a style ranging from Impressionism Abstract, Roz Hodgkins shows her work at the ARTery Gallery in Milford, PA, Patty Koch is a self taught painter. Mitchell Saler is well known for his majestic landscape oil paintings, Marge Saler known for her beautiful photographs, and Nilus Williams well known for her childrens book illustrations and paintings.

 

NEW! At Bon Secours: Gene Iovine’s still life paintings. Eugene has been creating artwork in various mediums for the past forty years, working with pencil, pastels, acrylic and oils on canvas. Gene moved to Sullivan County in 2010 and exhibits his work regionally. Gene specializes in still life and landscapes using acrylics.

 

NEW! At Port Jervis Free Library: Susan Miiller’s summer-themed oil paintings. Curator of Art About Town, Miiller shares the mysterious luminosity and meditative juxtapositions of her close-up floral imagery. Miiller is the recipient of several awards, is teaching faculty at SUNY and her work is in many important collections nationwide.
