Her work has been recognized with numerous exhibitions, publications and grants, and she is active in the creative community in Newburgh, NY. For many years, I have taken daily walks through the woods near my home. With this drawing, I attempt to translate what that walk can sometimes feel like, when the skin that separates me from air, mud, and grass becomes highly permeable. The title, The Grail, is the name of the place where I walk. It also refers to the vessel used at the Last Supper that became legend during the Middle Ages, symbolizing body, blood and immortality.
