Since 2011, Orange County Arts Council has presented its signature student arts showcase, The Arts Build Confidence. Featuring the bountiful talents of our county’s youth, this program is a celebration of the arts for students in Grades K-12. Singing and dancing actors liven up the day with a sneak peek of high school musicals. Nearly every school district in Orange County is represented, including private schools. Everyone is invited to attend this free art show.
Student artwork from many Orange County elementary and middle schools (Grades K-8) will be on display in a media slideshow throughout the day. Two large-screen displays will present the works near the staircase in the center court, adjacent to the high school pieces.
Orange County high schools submit a variety of pieces of artwork from their students. There will be oils, watercolors, mixed media, digital art and photography displayed on panels. Visitors to the show will be invited to participate in a “People’s Choice” competition to select a favorite work. Those pieces receiving the top three votes will be recognized for this achievement at 4:00 pm.
A preview of high school musicals will also take place in the center court (in front of JC Penney). Our county’s wonderfully talented singers, dancers and actors will entertain visitors with rousing versions of their upcoming shows. It’s a musical celebration like none other!
And if you’re headed over to the Target Hallway, be sure to check out our panels representing artworks from previous Arts Build Confidence showcases.
So come out and show your support for Orange County’s multi-talented youth!
